A BIT ABOUT ME

Music has been an integral part of my life since childhood.  Pretty much all of my memories revolve around music and singing with my siblings or being in a band or singing group.

Since growing up, getting married and now starting my own family, music has continued to be a part of everyday life.  I graduated from Crown College in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Music Education (K-12) and have been teaching private lessons for over 20 years.  In addition to teaching private lessons, I also spent four years in the classroom, as a part-time music teacher at St. John's Lutheran School in Chaska.  This was a wonderful opportunity to interact with children of all ages, as well as bring music into their lives in a fun and educational way.

I am a member of the Minnesota Music Teacher's Association, Music Teacher's National Association, and am the Program Director for the MMTA State Piano Contest Finals held annually.

I believe in the power of music and the importance of empowering children to take ownership of their lessons.  And most importantly I believe in loving music and making it fun.  Music is all around us and even inside us.  We are drawn to music and making music is such a joy and privilege.  I hope you'll join me in making music!
